Shoulder Pain Relief Starts With a Clear Diagnosis—Not Guesswork

If shoulder pain is limiting your sleep, workouts, golf, or even simple things like reaching overhead, you don’t need a generic routine. You need a thorough evaluation and a structured plan built around your shoulder.

Shoulder pain isn’t something you should “push through.” Whether it’s sharp pain with lifting, a deep ache at night, or weakness when reaching overhead, the right next step is clarity.

We start with a thorough evaluation and focused exam, and when appropriate we can take digital X-rays in the clinic—or review your recent X-rays or MRI—to understand what’s driving your pain.

From there, we build a structured, personalized plan using advanced therapies designed to restore function and help you get back to the activities you care about.

When Shoulder Pain Becomes a Daily Problem

Shoulder pain is rarely “just inflammation.” It’s often a combination of joint mechanics, tendon or soft-tissue irritation, and movement patterns that keep the area overloaded.

That’s why rest, physical therapy, medications, injections, or repeated quick fixes often don’t hold.

At our clinic, we focus on two things:

1. Identifying what’s driving the pain, and

2. Building a personalized plan to restore function and reduce irritation.

Feel defeated by failed treatments? Scheduling a visit can give you hope.

What Your First Visit Includes

Your first visit is designed to answer two questions: What is causing your shoulder pain—and what’s the smartest next step?

During your evaluation, we typically perform:

  • A thorough history and symptom review
  • A focused physical exam of the shoulder and surrounding joints
  • Movement and stability testing to identify what’s contributing
  • Digital X-rays in the clinic when appropriate
  • Or review of your recent X-rays or MRI if you already have imaging

Then we walk you through what we found, what it means, and whether you’re a good candidate for our shoulder protocols.

A Comprehensive, Personalized Shoulder Program Built around Your Unique Case

Here are common shoulder pain causes our therapies can help:

  • Rotator cuff irritation and tendinopathy (pain with lifting, reaching, or overhead motion)
  • Shoulder impingement patterns (pinching pain with reaching overhead or behind the back)
  • Biceps tendon irritation (pain in the front of the shoulder, aggravated by lifting or pulling)
  • Frozen shoulder patterns / restricted mobility (stiffness and loss of range of motion)
  • Shoulder joint and AC joint irritation (pain on top/front of the shoulder, often with pressing or sleeping on the side)
  • Shoulder instability and poor mechanics (clicking, catching, “slipping,” or weakness with movement)
  • Posture- and desk-related overload (tightness, aching, and recurring strain from rounded shoulders)
  • Overuse and repetitive strain injuries (sports, work, or training-related irritation that won’t settle down)
  • Sprain/strain after a fall or sudden movement (pain that persists beyond the normal healing window)
  • Shoulder osteoarthritis / degenerative joint changes (stiffness, aching, reduced range of motion)
  • Arthritis-related shoulder pain (including AC joint arthritis with pain on top of the shoulder)

A Comprehensive, Personalized Shoulder Program

Shoulder pain responds best when you address it from multiple angles—not with one tool. That’s why our plans often combine several advanced therapies that work together.

Therapies may include

  • Joint rebalancing to improve mechanics and reduce uneven stress through the shoulder complex
  • Class IV cold laser therapy to support tissue recovery and help calm inflammation
  • Infrared light therapy to support circulation and tissue recovery
  • Shockwave therapy to target stubborn soft-tissue irritation and help stimulate a healing response

These therapies are selected based on your exam and imaging findings to:

  • Reduce irritation in the tissues driving pain
  • Improve joint function and movement quality
  • Help you return to activity with more confidence

Not A One-Size-Fits-All Shoulder Plan

Two people can both have “shoulder pain” and need completely different care. Rotator cuff irritation, impingement patterns, biceps tendon irritation, instability, and joint mechanics can all feel similar—but respond to different approaches.

That’s why we don’t use cookie-cutter routines. Your plan is built around:

  • Your symptoms,
  • Your movement patterns, and
  • Your exam and imaging findings.

Spine Pain Center of Surfside is the best! The doctors, techs, and staff are all very kind and knowledgeable! My mom has been receiving "Knee On Track," knee decompression therapy. It has really helped with inflammation, mobility, and pain. She is able to walk and stand with less knee pain. I have been using the Vita Light Therapy Bed. The Summus Medical Laser Vita Light Therapy Bed is a full-body, non-invasive device using red/near-infrared wavelengths to reduce pain, inflammation, and improve cellular, skin, and muscle recovery. It has really helped with my osteoarthritis and inflammation in my joints specifically my knees and hips. I am so happy I found Spine Pain Center of Surfside. Highly recommend you give them a try! 😊

I highly recommend Spine Pain Center in Surfside Beach. I see the young, funny Dr. Brady and from my first visit and each visit since I like that he explains everything about my issues and also explains what he is doing when he adjusts me. I already feel better after just 12 visits and look forward to continuing to improve for my overall well-being! All of the staff have been friendly, personable and professional. Ms. Nancy will take good care of you when you use any of the different tables/machines before or after you get adjusted. I've also never had any issues scheduling any of my appointments with the front desk.

I have some serious issues with my back from an auto accident years ago. Since I live holistically, Regular chiropractic care is one of the keys to my self care and took some time for me to vet a few before I found this place. They have great natural supplements there which was immediately a nod of approval on my checklist and a pleasant surprise. Having gone for the promo/ intro visit I was beyond impressed!! The staff is beyond warm and friendly. Dr George did a comprehensive analysis including xrays ,fully evaluating & discussing my preexisting conditions and a comprehensive plan for helping/healing . I'm beyond impressed!!! In just 2 visits I feel a huge difference!! I highly recommend them.

Long story but if you have painful neuropathy, please read this! I had not felt my feet for years, except for the debilitating pain at night. I had given up golf and fishing because of my fear of falling. The more I read on the Internet, the more I realized that I could be looking at amputation. My wife saw that Spine Pain in Surfside was advertising a new treatment for neuropathy and I begrudgingly went to see them and they outlined a 7 week program (3x a week) of laser, compression, light and vibration treatments for me. Well, fast forward 10 weeks later and I have no pain, I now feel my feet and I have perfect circulation in my legs and feet. The entire staff is a cut above. MONEY WELL SPENT - LIFE CHANGING!

The treatment I have been receiving the past few weeks at the Spine Center is making a big difference in my daily life. Everything has been thoroughly explained to me by Dr Glenn and his staff regarding my X-rays, treatment plan and financial plans. The entire staff whom I have met are very friendly, professional and skillful in helping me with my lower back pain. I only wish that I had made an appointment sooner. I look forward to each and every visit and I feel much better after leaving. Thanks to everyone at the Spine Center!

I started going to the office due to severe pain from sciatica. I had been suffering with it for over six months with no relief. After about four visits, I felt a definite decrease in pain. I could sleep and moved better. I am now almost pain free and it is all because of the doctors at Spine Pain Center in Surfside Beach. I highly recommend them.
